On Tuesday November 11th, the American Disc Jockey Association in cooperation with the Atlantis Casino Resort and Nevada Wedding Network hosted a fantastic industry event. It began with a guided tour of the “new” multi-million dollar expansion at the Atlantis. Wedding professionals were treated to a close-up glimpse at this exciting new wing of this popular resort/casino.
Attendees were then seated in one of the new banquet rooms where Nevada Wedding Network founder Larry Williams presented his “Changing Public Perception” seminar which has toured the nation. His detailed oration provided insight and clarity on important customer services issues like; ethics, standards and teamwork.
At the conclusion of the event, audience members were given the opportunity to elaborate on the importance of attending events of this nature. Many cited the educational opportunity as something they wished every person in our industry would embrace. Everyone universally agreed that this event marked the beginning of an exciting new chapter for “education” for our industry.
Attendee Elton Pettaway, summed it up this way . . . “The DJ industry has always had a negative impression with consumers, but these economically challenging times are doing more than some expected with respect to helping consumers skimp on our services. The “Changing Public Perception” seminar that Larry Williams presented not only enlightens the DJ industry on how we can improve our reputation, it will boost sales and in addition will also benefit the entire mobile entertainment industry. I have gained a great deal of insight from meetings that the ADJA presents as well as this seminar and I will immediately begin applying these concepts to help my business and the perceptions that people are forming of me.”
This seminar and joint effort between the ADJA, NWN and Atlantis was a giant step forward in the progression of education for our wedding industry. “Look for more events of this nature in the future” says Larry Williams. “The Nevada Wedding Network is going to be a strong partner in bringing education and advanced level training to the forefront of our growing wedding industry! It’s long overdue . . . and this response from the wedding community was fantastic!” Williams concluded.
